Finally its summertime in Oslo!
Come, come, come to PAO @ Steilene Islands!!! Performance Art Oslo (PAO) presents an afternoon of performances on the islands of Steilene off the coast of Nesodden on Sunday, July 12th from 15:00 - 18:00. Featuring nine artists: Fernanda Branco, Liv Kristin Holmberg, Amelia Beavis-Harrison, Tone Gellein, Studio Toad / Thorjussen & Lawrence, Joana Gelazyte, Eirik Slyngstad and Kirsty Kross. The performances are site specific pieces which are inspired by the landscape, weather and history of Steilene. The islands were the site of a former oil factory and contain buildings from the late 1800s as well as the spectacular ruins of stone tanks which will be the locations for some of the performances. The islands are now a bird and nature reserve and a popular destination for hiking, boating and swimming. All participating artists are based in the Oslo area, but originate from countries as diverse as Norway, Brazil, UK, Lithuania, Australia and the United States. In addition, they all have different approaches towards performance art. Therefore, PAO @ Steliene will be a surprising and fascinating afternoon showcasing the many different ways the landscape at Steilene can be interpreted, engaged with and transformed through performance art. PAO @ Steilene is free! PAO will provide some snacks, but you are also welcome to bring along a picnic and drinks.
