Echoing Tracks
The three performance artists Amelia Beavis-Harrison, Anne-Liis Kogan and Pavlina Lucas are invited by Drammen Kunstforening to create site specific performances for the area around Bragernes Torg. To develop the works the artists have drawn inspiration from the local history, which is reflected in the city architecture and public art. The event is curated by Tanja Thorjussen of PAO.

Amelia Beavis-Harrison is a British artist based in Oslo.
Her work is presented in galleries, theatres and public space, notable presentations have been at Kunstnernes Hus, Oslo, NO (2014), Helsinki Art Museum, FI (2013), SPILL Festival, Ipswich, UK (2012), World Event Young Artists, Nottingham, UK (2012).
Amelia uses performance as an expanded form of visual art often drawing from historical situations whilst commenting on contemporary issues. This forthcoming performance will touch on slavery and Norwegian citizens re-locating to Hawaii for work in sugar plantations in 1881.

Anne-Liis Kogan, educated at The Art Academy in Bergen and Konstfack in Stockholm, is from Estoniabut lives and works in Oslo.
In her practice Kogan work with performance and video installations based on relational and performative strategies. Her work explores notions of identity and community: ”My activities explore how individual identity has been related with community and nationality, how the individual participates and negotiates his/her place in the current collective culture.”

Pavlina Lucas studied photojournalism before obtaining her master degree in architecture from Harvard University Graduate School of Design. She has collaborated with renowned Swiss architect Peter Zumthor on a number of projects, including ones for Walter De Maria and Louise Bourgeois. Lucas operates on the conviction that art as praxis is a singular and unforeseeable journey of exploration that defies borders between disciplines.
Her work spans across photography, architecture, installation, performance, and creative writing, and has been exhibited and published internationally. In March 2014 Lucas concluded her PhD project The Photographic Absolute: An Architectural Beginning, the first artistic research project completed at the Oslo School of Architecture and Design. www.pavlinalucas.com
